One‐child policy and marriage market in China

This study analyzes the effect of one-child policy on marriage market in China and focuses leftover situation, age, age differential between husband wife. Considering 30 years as cutoff point, has increased proportion to about 1.2%, with 1.8% men 0.6% women. Although general public is aware problem urban women, much more serious than that former situation due large numbers latter matching process. The positive significant, irrespective urban, rural residents, or migrants, but smaller areas, which consistent fact sex ratio balanced areas. also increases wife whole; however, it significant for male-headed families negative female-headed families.
